Indication Being Studied: Moderate to Severely Active Ulcerative Colitis (UC).

Summary of Study: This study is open to men and women, age 18 to 75, who have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and who are currently experiencing flare-ups.

Individuals who qualify to participate in this study will receive study medication or placebo, and study-related medical care, at no-cost to the participant or their insurance.

Number of Visits: Up to 5 visits.

Duration of Study: Up to 8 weeks.

Extension Study: Interested, qualified individuals may continue on to an extension study upon completion of the initial trial. The extension study has an expected duration of 54 weeks.

Who can Participate: Men and women, age 18 or older, who have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, are currently experiencing flare-ups, and have responded poorly to a previous treatment regimen. Participants cannot have been treated with an anti-TNF (e.g. Remicade) drug in the past.

Additional inclusion/exclusion criteria will be reviewed with interested individuals during screening.

Subject Stipend: A subject stipend (up to $250) is available upon completion of the study.
