Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is an advanced form of of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. NASH is caused by the buildup of fat in the liver. This buildup causes inflammation and damage which can lead to scarring of the liver. NASH has few to no symptoms but if you do have symptoms you may be tired or have discomfort in the upper right part of your abdomen.
